Animal abuse has become a serious issue in today's society.Various factors contribute to this problem, but the effect of animal abuse remains detrimental to society. This research aims to investigate how common animal abuse is today, the different forms it takes, the causes, and its effects. This research's significance lies in the growing relationship between animal welfare and public health, the environment, moral growth, and the enforcement of law and order. There is also increasing evidence on the relationship between animal abuse and human violence, the risks of diseases that can jump from animals to humans, environmental harm, and a lack of empathy in society. The paper uses secondary data from various sources to discuss animal abuse, including data from non-governmental organisations, legal documents, academic studies, sustainability metrics, and case studies from recent times. The logical method used is a word-based method that combines various research methods to gain insights into this issue. The findings of this study reveal that despite the various laws and activism against animal abuse, a multitude of factors allow this problem to continue. The threats that animals confront in today's world vary from industrial meat production to animal testing and trafficking. The study concludes that the issue of animal abuse requires various parties to take part in eradicating this issue. There are various opportunities for future research on this topic concerning trackable animal welfare indicators, monitoring technologies to combat animal trafficking, and initiatives to change human behaviours that contribute to animal cruelty. After reviewing all the research presented,it is clear that several parties must be involved in ending animal abuse to ensure a more viable and sustainable future for animal welfare.Including various parties will allow for a brief approach to addressing animal cruelty. However, future research will be needed on specific topics, such as monitoring animal welfare and changing behaviours to reduce inhumanity towards animals.
