Artificial intelligence may not simply accelerate the digital age. It may restore dialogue itself as the dominant interface of civilization. Marshall McLuhan's best-known proposition, that “the medium is the message”, remains unsettling precisely because it relocates the locus of historical change. The deepest transformations in human society are not produced solely by what a medium says, but by what a medium is: by its material form, its speed, its sensory bias, and its mode of organizing attention and memory.
