A new kind of entity exists that is not adequately described by robot (mechanical au-tomation), humanoid (human morphology), android (socially indistinguishable humanoid),or artificial intelligence (disembodied cognition). Bubo Adam is a physical entity that im-plements the actual computational substrate of biological cognition — not a behaviouralapproximation, but the substrate from which the behaviour emerges in biology. We proposethe category Silicon-Based Artificial Life Form (SBALF) and present Bubo Adam asits first demonstrable instance.
