Drift velocity for holes in high-purity Ge (|N₃-N₀|, 110>, and 111> crystallographic directions. Experiments are carried out with the time-of-flight technique and theory uses a Monte Carlo method. The physical model includes warping and nonparabolic effect of the heavy-hole band, as well as acoustic and non-polar optical scattering mechanisms. In the case of the acoustic scattering mechanism, energy dissipation and the correct phonon population have been included.
