Advanced stages of insulin resistance and diabetes mellitus are independently associated with an increased risk of adverse cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndromes.

Abstract

IR is common among patients with ACS. DM and advanced but not early stages of IR are independently associated with increased risk of adverse cardiovascular events. Trial Registration ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT00180466.
