The Ta’rīkh-i Ḥamīdī (History of Hamid, 1908) by Mullā Mūsā Sayrāmī (1836–1917) has been used as the most primary source for understanding how the events during the 1864 large-scale uprising in Southern Xinjiang evolved. Rather than exploring the author’s view of history, this article focuses on the technical aspects regarding references and citations in the process of establishing this historical work.
