Magnetometer survey carried out over c. 26ha using hand-carried GNSS-positioned bespoke fluxgate gradiometer system. Magnitude Surveys was commissioned to assess the archaeological potential of a c. 26ha area of land at Portreath, Cornwall. A fluxgate gradiometer survey was successfully undertaken across the survey area and detected anomalies of probable archaeological origin suggestive of possible multiple phases of field systems, trackways, enclosures, and ring ditches. Anomalies that are magnetically weaker and less morphologically diagnostic were also identified as being of a possible archaeological origin. Agricultural activity has also been identified in the form of modern ploughing trends.
