The efficiency of modern fuel-injection engines has advanced automotive technology by improving performance and reducing environmental impact. Despite these improvements, vehicles remain a significant source of air pollution, primarily due to exhaust emissions. This study investigates the performance of catalyst systems and oxygen sensors in reducing harmful emissions from internal combustion engines. Catalyst systems function by promoting chemical reactions that convert pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOₓ) into less harmful substances, while oxygen sensors provide real-time feedback to the engine control unit, optimizing the fuel-air mixture for efficient combustion.The study evaluates the effectiveness of these components under varying operating conditions to determine their contribution to emission reduction. Findings indicate that properly functioning catalyst systems and oxygen sensors significantly lower the concentration of exhaust pollutants, enhancing both engine efficiency and environmental compliance. Moreover, the integration of high-performance oxygen sensors improves feedback accuracy, leading to more precise fuel management and further emission mitigation.This research highlights the critical role of catalyst systems and oxygen sensors in achieving cleaner automotive operations, emphasizing that optimizing these components is essential for sustainable transportation.
