The watching brief aimed to establish the presence/absence of archaeological structures or other significant features within the works area. Should any archaeological resources have been revealed their presence would have been recorded and a decision made as to any mitigation measures. The archaeological watching brief was carried out to the standards laid down in the Chartered Institute of Field Archaeologists, Guideline for Watching Briefs 2020 This document comprises a report on an Archaeological Watching Brief undertaken during development work at a rural, residential property. As the property under development is close to a Grade II listed Church, CPAT advised that an archaeological constraint would be necessary as a planning condition during any ground disturbance.
