Globally, the demand for integrated health care-the systematic, team-based approach to treating physical and mental health conditions- is critical. There is an urgent need to design, implement, and evaluate integrated health interventions that promote prevention or improved patient self-management of noncommunicable diseases, lifestyle medicine interventions to improve diet, physical activity, harmful substance use, sleep, excess social media/screen time, and so on, and psychological interventions for mental health conditions. This article defines the concept of global integrated health, describes the current state of the field, and presents the position of the Families, Systems, & Health editorial board on global integrated health care.
