This presentation was given as part of the SeDOA coffee lecture series: “This is how we do it. International Best Practices for Diamond Open Access”. It features an introduction to the OAPEN Foundation including the OAPEN Library, the OA Books Toolkit and the Directory of Open Access Books. A short history of European projects around diamond open access is followed by an introduction to the European Diamond Capacity Hub (ECDH). The new AEGIS-OA project is introduced with a specific emphasis on the inclusion of OA books in a European Diamond Open Access project. The tasks including books are discussed in detail as well as the plans for version 2.0 of the Diamond Open Access Standard (DOAS), which will include books for the first time. The presentation concludes with suggestions on how the SeDOA project can be further involved in AEGIS-OA.
