This article examines the development of public (collective and state-run) and individual livestock farming in the Krasnoyarsk Territory during the period of agrarian reforms initiated by N. S. Khrushchev. By the time the reforms began, local animal husbandry was characterized by persistent structural imbalances, the high role of personal subsidiary farms in ensuring food sustainability, and the general crisis in this agricultural sector. The purpose of the study is to identify the regional specifics of the implementation of Khrushchev's agrarian policy and to analyze a set of economic, administrative and managerial measures aimed at transforming the structure of animal husbandry and strengthening the public sector. As a result of the study, a conclusion was drawn about the contradictory nature of Khrushchev's reforms: with the declared priority of the public sector, it was individual animal husbandry that remained a key source of livestock and product growth for a long time. The restriction of private farms has led to a deterioration in food supply and revealed the structural vulnerability of public livestock production.
