Abstract Urbanization is one of the most significant transformations shaping modern India. It has brought economic growth, modernization, and improved infrastructure, but has also deeply influenced social life. This research paper examines the multifaceted impact of urbanization on social relationships, family structures, cultural practices, and mental well-being in India. Using a mixed-method approach (primary questionnaire with 50 respondents and secondary data), the study highlights both positive and negative consequences of urban living. The findings reveal that while urbanization enhances opportunities and individual freedom, it also contributes to social isolation, weakening of traditional values, and increased stress. The study concludes with recommendations for sustainable and socially inclusive urban development.
