Does pravastatin reduce recurrent coronary events in patients after myocardial infarction with average cholesterol levels and evidence of inflammation?
Pravastatin may reduce recurrent coronary events after MI through nonlipid, anti-inflammatory effects.
Evidence of inflammation after MI is associated with increased risk of recurrent coronary events. Therapy with pravastatin may decrease this risk, an observation consistent with a nonlipid effect of this agent.
