Gen Z in India enters the workforce with distinct values, digital fluency, and expectations shaped by India’s unique socio-cultural fabric. This literature review synthesizes evidence from approximately 200 empirical and conceptual works to map the work culture of Gen Z in India, identify drivers and barriers, and outline gaps for future research. We integrate perspectives from organizational psychology, human resource management, gender and diversity studies, work–life interface, and cultural sociology to present a cohesive picture of Gen Z’s workplace attitudes, expectations, and behaviors in the Indian context. Where debates exist across sources, we highlight convergences and tensions. The synthesis emphasizes implications for managers, policymakers, and researchers aiming to align organizational practices with Gen Z’s work ethos.
