The basic part of the theory of spinors is developed by elementary means with the use of a simple picture of a spinor and spherical trigonometry. The topics treated are the geometrical description of a spinor, components of a spinor, the equations for the rotation of a spinor, determination of the magnitude function of a spinor, and addition and multiplication of spinors. The relation of spinors to quaternions is briefly discussed. No detailed treatment of the physical applications of spinor theory is given.
