The article examines the functioning of special economic and legal zones (SELPZ) in the Russian Federation, including special economic zones (SEZ) and territories of advanced socio-economic development (TASED), free economic zones (FEZ), technology parks and innovative scientific and technical centers (ISTC). It analyzes key regulatory and legal acts governing the activities of these zones, as well as the mechanisms for their creation and management. Special attention is given to economic incentives for residents, tax benefits, and the investment attractiveness of regions. The article reviews the performance of preferential zones, including the volume of attracted investments, the number of jobs created, and their contribution to the country's socio-economic development. The importance of implementing ESG principles and the prospects for further expansion of the special economic zones network in Russia are emphasized.
