The novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is a highly infectious respiratory virus with significant pathogenicity. Although its impact has lessened in many countries, its ongoing mutations and sporadic outbreaks remain a public health concern. Notably, some cases present severe neurological manifestations. Herein, we report a patient who developed new-onset refractory status epilepticus (NORSE) and significant brain atrophy following SARS-CoV-2 infection.
