The trenching comprised the excavation of five trial trenches, each measuring 30m long by 1.8m wide. The trial trenching exposed a stratigraphic sequence of superficial geology sealed by topsoil. In three of the trenches features containing modern dumped deposits were exposed indicative of modern dumping across the site.
