Amid growing concern about the mental health toll on law enforcement officers, lawmakers have introduced bipartisan legislation aimed at identifying and expanding effective support strategies nationwide. The bill, introduced May 13, would direct federal officials to develop best practices to reduce stigma, improve access to mental health services and peer‐to‐peer counseling, and ensure confidentiality of care, while consulting closely with mental health and suicide prevention organizations.
