Exposure to ethylene at a concentration range of 60 to 70 ppm brought about an increased stomatal closure within twelve hours in two species of plants among the four studied. Both tomato and carnation showed a response to ethylene treatment but could completely recover within 96 hours after treatment. Pinto bean and Sedum pachyphyllum stomata showed little or no response to ethylene.
