Alcoholics Admitted to Four Hospitals in England; II. General and Cause-Specific Mortality

The causes of death of alcoholics in England followed up for 10 to 15 years after admission to four hospitals are analyzed. The actual deaths among men were more than twice the expected rate, and among women, more than three times, with accidents, poisoning, violence and suicide far in the lead as causes.
