It highlights the importance of fair and efficient asylum systems, the inclusion of displaced and stateless persons in national frameworks and strengthened protection for people in vulnerable situations. Additionally, it underscores the imperative of increasing opportunities for durable solutions – including voluntary repatriation, local integration, resettlement and other legal pathways to protection. To uphold the principle of burden- and responsibility-sharing and to strengthen the international protection framework, the note calls for sustained political and financial support from the international community. This support is indispensable for enabling UNHCR to fulfil its mandate and respond effectively to the global displacement and statelessness challenges.
