A new sine wave inverter topology is presented. Its current mode operation is described, and its performance is compared to that of the more conventional series, or voltage mode, inverter. It is shown that higher frequency and more efficient operation is possible. A parity simulation of the new circuit is performed and parametric operating data are presented in a form useful for design purposes. The simulation results are verified on a 250 W 10-20 kHz hardware version of the current mode sine wave inverter.
