Occupational hygiene is a scientific discipline dedicated to anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards that may impair workers' health and productivity. Modern industrialization has increased exposure to physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards. This review discusses the principles of occupational hygiene, major occupational risk factors, preventive strategies, and the importance of workplace health promotion. Effective occupational hygiene programs contribute to reduced occupational diseases, improved productivity, and enhanced quality of life among workers.
