A dissecting aneurysm of the coronary artery (DACA) occurred in a 42-year-old woman. Approximately 24 cases of DACA have been previously documented. Although some cases have been related to underlying causes, such as Mar fan's syndrome or trauma, most cases (usually in women) occur spontaneously. A significant number of these women were in the postpartum period. The site of rupture is probably a vasa vasorum, but factors predisposing the vessel to dissection have not been elucidated.
