Ayurveda is a time-tested system of medicine that emphasizes prevention, holistic well- being, and harmony between the body, mind, and environment. With the growing global burden of lifestyle-related and chronic diseases, preventive healthcare has gained renewed importance. Advances in life sciences—such as molecular biology, genomics, pharmacology, and systems medicine—have enabled scientific evaluation of Ayurvedic principles. This paper presents a comprehensive review of Ayurveda in preventive healthcare and explores its integration with modern life sciences. Core concepts including Prakriti, Dinacharya, Ritucharya, Ahara, and Rasayana are examined in relation to immune modulation, metabolic regulation, stress adaptation, and disease prevention. Evidence from experimental, clinical, and epidemiological studies supports the relevance of Ayurveda as a complementary and preventive healthcare approach. The review highlights an integrative framework that combines traditional knowledge with scientific research to support sustainable and cost-effective health promotion.
