Conductivity vs. temperature data for Li salt solutions in a number of organic carbonate solvents correlate well with the Vogel ‐ Tammann ‐ Fulcher equation over a wide Li salt concentration range. The results are consistent with a solvent‐assisted ionic conductivity mechanism; we attribute this to the strong interaction between organic solvent molecules and Li ions. It is demonstrated that solvent‐assisted ionic transport may be a general phenomenon in aprotic organic electrolytes containing Li salts. ©1999 The Electrochemical Society
