The Arabic language is distinguished by its beauty and unique approach in its linguistic structures, adhering to the rules and principles established by early scholars. One of these grammatical methods is emphasis, which can be used in both prose and poetry in a variety of ways. It is recognized as an independent topic by early grammarians or integrated within other grammatical topics that serve as emphasizing devices, such as adverbs and adjectives, or some conditions. This method is closely tied to contextual appropriateness and situational requirements. This research examines the grammatical method of emphasis in the poetry of Ahmed Shawky, known as the “Prince of Poets.” His poetry is characterized by eloquence, precision, and depth, both in meaning and structure. The study examines his poetic works, employing a grammatical analysis to identify the tools he utilized—linguistic devices deliberately employed to convey the unique meanings and concepts of his poetry. The beauty of expression and elegance of style are connected to the text’s context, syntactic craftsmanship, and the search for sentence components. These structural patterns work together to form sentences in the poet’s language, which underpins the foundation of his poetic compositions. The research adopts a specific methodology focused on the method of emphasis by analyzing Ahmed Shawky’s poems to uncover various forms of emphasis and their semantic effects. Examples include indefiniteness, the particles inna and anna (emphatic particles), the initial laam (of emphasis), the delayed laam, the addition of prepositions, oath particles, the use of qad (may) with past verbs, fronting elements typically placed later in sentences, and exclusivity structures in the language. This study delves into the methods of emphasis in detail, presenting examples from Ahmed Shawky's poetry to demonstrate the clear grammatical syntactic influence in reinforcing and strengthening the meaning within the poetic text. It examines the implications and meanings associated with emphasis, reflecting the various grammatical forms and their applications. Shawky’s poetry is distinguished by intellectual and linguistic creativity, as well as his skill and ingenuity in syntactic formulation, which contribute to its semantic richness. This is achieved through the use of grammatical tools and methods that enhance the structure of the poetic text, which is, in turn, built upon artistic and formal principles governed by syntactic composition. In this way, each text emerges as a unique sign designed to convey specific content. The syntactic elements of the language delineate the boundaries of these signs and divide the text into semantic units. The cohesive structure of a poetic composition ensures that every part complements the others, working together toward the unified goal of reinforcing the poem's construction. The words within the poem acquire certain nuances shaped by the poem’s specific context, which bestows upon them meanings associated with the poem. The grammatical structure plays a critical role in clarifying these meanings and implications. Keywords: Emphasis, grammatical study, methods, poetry, semantic analysis.
