Sports play an important role in personality development of university students. This study investigated the impact of sports on personality development of university students. Total 200 participants (110 males and 90 females), aged 18-25 years were the respondents of the study from public and private universities. A survey questionnaire was used for data collection. The reliability of the data was measure through Cronbach’s Alpha (α = .87), showing high internal consistency. Descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage), and inferential statistics Pearson Correlation, Mann-Whitney U tests, and regression were applied by using SPSS version 27. The results indicated a significant correlation among sports participant and personality development (r = 0.63, p < .01). Regression analysis shows that sports participants significantly personality development (F 1198) = 82.47, p < .001, R2 = .29). There is no gender differences were found (U = 4725.5, p = .084), indicating that both male and female students effected equally from sports engagement. However, a significance difference between public and private university students (U = 1158.5, p = 0.31), with private university students scoring higher because of good sports facilities and institutional support. These findings shows the important role of sports in developing personal growth, self-confidence, leadership, emotional well-being of university students, exploring the need for increased sports facilities in universities.
