This comprehensive report analyzes the life trajectories of former institutionalized children (Care Leavers) in comparison to the general population ("Normalis"). Based on current statistical data (2024-2026) from Austria and international sources, the study examines structural disparities in education, employment, addiction risks, and homelessness. Central to the work is the concept of "Sublimation"—the ability to transform systemic trauma into intellectual and artistic excellence. Featuring case studies of Alexander Markus Homes and Lemn Sissay, and supported by the author's own background as a FIDE Master with over 1,000 published chess studies, this paper advocates for a shift in state responsibility: moving from deficit-oriented care to fostering the immense creative potential of care leavers.
