Community-based midwifery training programmes have been implemented in Nigeria to improve maternal health outcomes. A comprehensive search strategy was employed using electronic databases, including PubMed and Web of Science. Studies published between and were included based on predefined inclusion criteria. Community-based midwifery training programmes in Nigeria have shown a significant improvement in maternal health knowledge and practices (p < 0. 05), with an average increase of 15% in the proportion of women who received antenatal care. The review highlighted that comprehensive training, community engagement, and continuous support are critical for successful implementation of midwifery programmes. Programmes should prioritise ongoing education and community outreach to sustain health improvements. Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
