The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 represents a transformative framework for Indian education, aiming to promote holistic development, competency-based learning, and flexible curricula across all levels of schooling. This study investigates the impact of NEP on Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools, focusing on its effects on teaching methodologies, student learning outcomes, and overall educational quality. The research examines how CBSE institutions are adapting to changes such as reduced rote learning, emphasis on critical thinking, and multidisciplinary approaches, while also considering challenges like teacher preparedness, infrastructure, and resource availability. Data was collected through surveys, interviews, and classroom observations from selected CBSE schools, and analyzed to identify patterns in policy implementation and its outcomes. The findings suggest that while NEP has the potential to enhance student engagement and skill development, its effectiveness varies significantly depending on institutional readiness and support mechanisms. The study highlights the need for targeted teacher training, curriculum alignment, and resource allocation to ensure the successful realization of NEP’s objectives in CBSE schools, providing valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and researchers.
