Abstract

This preprint introduces the Tone–Structure–Pattern (TSP) Model™, a conceptual framework for understanding communication rupture through three interacting layers: tone, structure, and pattern. Drawing on reflective observation and lived engagement with communication processes and therapeutic contexts, including EMDR, the paper argues that breakdown often occurs through premature meaning assignment under conditions of increased processing speed. The model outlines how interpretive imbalance develops, how pattern functions as a stabilizing mechanism over time, and how more deliberate response timing may reduce rupture. It is presented as a conceptual and reflective framework rather than a clinical or empirically validated model.
