Standard evaluation methodology as outlined in relevant CIfA Standard and Guidance documents. Three trenches. Avon Archaeology Limited undertook an archaeological evaluation of land at Bradford-on-Avon Rugby Club, off Ashley Lane, Bradford-on-Avon. The work excavated three 1.8 x 30m trenches. It should be noted that a surveying error on the part of the writer resulted in one of the trenches being substantially off from its intended location. The local authority archaeological officer was informed of this error during the fieldwork, but agreed, given the negative results, that the trenches excavated provided sufficient information. The evaluation found no evidence of archaeological features or deposits and the results do not justify further archaeological intervention.
