Neonatal infections remain one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality among newborns worldwide. In recent years, considerable attention has been paid to identifying prognostic markers that can predict the severity and clinical outcome of neonatal infections. This literature review analyzes the clinical manifestations, laboratory and immunological biomarkers, as well as microbiological factors associated with the prognosis of neonatal infections. According to current scientific data, respiratory disorders, hemodynamic instability, inflammatory biomarkers, and cytokine imbalance play a crucial role in determining disease severity and prognosis in affected neonates.
