The relationship between the radio and far-infrared emission in IRAS galaxies: VLA observations of a large well-defined sample at 1420 MHz

This paper describes VLA observations at 1420 MHz of a sample of 156 IRAS galaxies. The sample is well-defined in that it includes all the IRAS galaxies within a 304 deg2 region centred on the South Galactic Pole, so objects are selected only on the basis of far-infrared flux density.
