In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a C-band 200G pre-amplified self-coherent passive optical network (SC-PON). To mitigate the reduction in receiver sensitivity resulting from co-transmitted carriers in self-coherent systems, a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is deployed at the ONU side before a Stokes vector receiver. To demonstrate the feasibility of our proposal, we conduct a proof-of-concept system experiment using a pre-amplified 50-GBaud 16-QAM SC-PON in the downstream direction. Remarkably, we achieve a data rate of 200Gb/s/λ over a 20-km single-mode fiber (SMF) with a receiver sensitivity of -19 dBm. Moreover, our system surpasses the power budget specified by ITU-T class N1 and IEEE class PR(X), achieving a power budget beyond 30 dB under the 15% SD-FEC threshold of 2 × 10 −2 .
