This review analyzes the main issues addressed by Joao Biehl's work Will to Live: AIDS Therapies and the Politics of survival. Bypassing economic and social issues related to public health, the work does not ignore its anthropological mission, with a individualized look on the patients and their life stories. To portray these goals, a critical descriptive methodology has been used, commenting each one of the topics of the research, without intenting to exhaust the richness of this investigative work.
