Over the last decade feminist research methods have affected the nature of research in all the social and natural sciences. This book offers a practical guide to conducting research informed by feminist methods. The introduction discusses issues in the philosophy of science, history of science and sociology of knowledge that are fundamental to understanding the nature of scientific method and the role of feminist scholarship. The major portion of the book comprises readings that present feminist commentary on methods and serve as exemplars of particular methods, such as oral history and feminist synthesism.
