Foreign publishers and foreign authors are apparently beginning to give more and more attention to the physical aspects of successful marriage. In this volume, a distinguished Dutch physician discusses the subject with a sincerity and directness far beyond that available in any other serious book thus far available. He concerns himself with both the esthetics and the technic of marriage contacts, basing his advice and presentation on the special writings in this field that have appeared not only in Europe but also in the Far East. The book has had a tremendous sale. If one discounts sufficiently what might be called the overenthusiasm of the author for his subject and his willingness to sacrifice almost every other aspect of marriage for the physical side, the book will be properly evaluated. Indeed, most physicians are familiar with the major portions of the book, but the presentation will nevertheless be found interesting.
