This research was purposed to explore the concept of psychoterapy based on kawruh jiwa with ngudari reribet as its basic principle.This qualitative research applied phenomenological perspective in understanding the phenomena.The respondents in this research were two students of kawruh jiwa.Data were obtained by in-depth interview combined with data triangulation.The research result explained that kandha-takon through nyawang karep in order to nyocokaken raos in ngudari reribet as mawas diri processing worked as the essence of kawruh jiwa of Ki Ageng Suryomentaram psychotherapy model.
