This article describes interactive videodisc learning technology and a research and development project at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. In 1988, a cross-sectional survey of videodisc use was sent to 96 programs accredited or candidates for accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education. Of the respondent programs, the author's program was the only one that used videodiscs in its curriculum. The author discusses the discs used in his program and makes some recommendations for the coordinated use of resources for the development of videodiscs to be used in social work education.
