The establishment of steady-state, developed vaporization regimes in intensely irradiated aerosol particles is investigated. This analysis is aided by the identification of several characteristic interaction times which serve to identify, after a given irradiation time, the dominant aerosol-beam interactions. An approximate treatment of the approach to steady-state conditions is also given. Finally, the aerosol vaporization model developed here is applied to the description of aerosol-enhanced breakdown using a theory developed elsewhere.
