Many facets: A controlled synthesis results in high-symmetry small-molecular organic microcrystals with shapes that range from cubes through truncated cubes to rhombic dodecahedra (see picture). Morphological control was achieved by changes in solubility, which substantially alters the growth rate in the 〈100〉 direction relative to that in the 〈110〉 direction. Changes in morphology also lead to different optical properties of the crystals. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
