Security awareness: switch to a better programme

Behaviours are difficult to control and people are often under-trained or unaware of what security is all about. At the same time, secure information is a critical facet of success for all organizations in today's networked world. For example, while the US government's Transformational Government plan focuses on ensuring that IT helps create a more ‘citizen-centred’ government, its initiatives to reduce costs and improve services are highly dependent on improved IT projects. To accomplish this, it is critical that the staff and other people who access or use information and IT are aware of and follow appropriate security guidelines.
