Bruce Memorial Lecture in Preventive Medicine today. To be thus chosen is profoundly gratifying, and I should like to express my deepest appreciation to the Board of Regents of The American College of Physicians for this distinction, which I share with Dr. Alvin Coburn. It is worthy of note that this is the first Bruce Memorial Lectureship to be devoted to problems concerned with the prevention of heart disease.
