Patients admitted to the hospital for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF) and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFREF)

Presence of coronary artery disease (CAD)

Comparator

Absence of CAD / HFREF with CAD

Coronary artery disease carries a distinct and severe prognostic impact in patients with HFpEF, placing them at particularly high risk for cardiovascular and sudden death over a 10-year period.

Abstract

The prognostic impact of CAD is different in HFPEF compared with HFREF. Patients with HFPEF and CAD are at high risk of cardiovascular death, especially sudden death.
