This fourth edition, like its predecessors, is comprehensive and detailed in its scope and should well serve as a guide for the clinician, teacher, and serious student alike in understanding fully the various facets of injuries of the central nervous system. Ably edited and directed by Dr. Brock, this product of some 32 contributing authors leaves little if anything uncovered with regard to the subject as known to date. Acute trauma in adults and children, including birth injuries of the central nervous system; the pathological and radiological aspects of such trauma; the complications, immediate and ultimate; and some aspects generally unrealized, are thoroughly considered. Post-traumatic psychoses, neuroses, convulsive disorders, and even malingering in relation to the general subject are presented in a sensible, competent, and practical evaluation. New chapters have been added, and these deal with post-traumatic infections including meningitis and cystitis and related complications in the paraplegic; pathological aspects
