Reports of presentations made at the Hot Line sessions of the European Society of Cardiology XXIV Congress held in Berlin, Germany, between 31 August and 4 September 2002 are included. Summaries of the results of the following trials are presented: CARMEN, EARTH, OPTIMAAL, ACE, TEN-HMS, MAGIC, SOLVD-X and PATH-CHF II.
